Students in years 4, 5 and 6 are eligible to compete in school sports fixtures as part of the Rockhampton primary school sports competitions. A winter and summer program of sports is played on Friday afternoons. Sports available are Rugby League, Soccer (football), Netball, Cricket, Softball and Oztag.
The school also has an annual track and field carnival. Students are divided into three sports houses; blue, green and gold. This carnival doubles as a selection trial to assemble a Mount Morgan Central school track and field team. Mount Morgan Central regularly has students attain selection in the greater Rockhampton and Capricornia representative teams.
